Overview

This project was one of our most challenging installations from start to finish, with restricted access, significant level changes and a complex redesign required to maximise the available space.

The existing area had a single padel court, which needed to be carefully dismantled, with the original ring beam foundations broken out to allow for the installation of two new padel courts. Due to the limited space available, one of the new courts had to be rotated to successfully fit both courts into the area.

Access was one of the biggest challenges throughout the project. Due to the restricted working conditions, all court components had to be carefully transported into position by hand, requiring detailed planning and coordination at every stage. The concrete installation also presented challenges, with the concrete needing to be pumped over the building to reach the work area safely and efficiently.

The site featured significant changes in levels, which we incorporated into the final design by creating a tiered landscape system alongside one side of the padel courts. This included the construction of steps providing access to the existing tennis court on the lower level, while also creating an attractive social area for players, members and visitors to enjoy.

To complete the transformation, we landscaped the surrounding areas with new turf, creating a high-quality finish that blends the new padel facility into its surroundings.

Despite the complex access restrictions, challenging ground conditions and limited working space, our team successfully delivered a bespoke two-court padel facility that maximises the available area while creating a welcoming and functional environment.

It was a real pleasure to work with this club throughout the project. Their support, cooperation and enthusiasm helped make a challenging installation run smoothly, and we are proud to have played a part in creating a fantastic new facility for their members and the wider community.
