Overview

This project involved transforming an existing tennis court area into a new padel facility, creating space for two padel courts positioned end-to-end with a covered Fordingbridge canopy system.

Although the site already had an existing tennis court, additional groundworks were required to extend the area and accommodate the new padel layout. Due to challenging ground conditions, the project required significantly reinforced foundations to provide the strength and stability needed for both the padel courts and the canopy structure.

To manage the surrounding levels and ensure a high-quality finished area, we installed timber sleeper retaining features around the pathways, creating a practical and attractive transition between the court area and the surrounding landscape.

The project also included the installation of perimeter chain-link fencing with access gates, providing a secure boundary around the facility.

As part of the acoustic requirements for the site, we constructed a 44-metre-long reinforced concrete foundation with a precision-level finish, specifically designed to support a 2-metre-high by 44-metre-long glass acoustic wall. This additional structure helped integrate the courts into the surrounding environment while providing effective noise management.

Despite the challenges of poor ground conditions, level changes and additional structural requirements, we successfully delivered a complete padel court solution that combines functionality, durability and a high-quality finish.
